Ballston Spa, NY Mary S. Martz 76 Mary died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 6, 2010. She was born in Brookville, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen and Lyda Walter Fiscus. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and C.C.D. Teacher at St Mary's School for many years. Mary was a volunteer for Birthright in Ballston Spa and deeply believed in the sanctity of life. Mary enjoyed cross country skiing, gardening, bird watching and was an exceptional cook. She was predeceased her husband Wendell D. Martz and her brothers Robert Fiscus and David Fiscus. Survivors include her sons: Stephen Martz of Port St. Lucie, FL, Wendell (Susan) Martz, Jr of Chambersburg, PA, David (Jill) Martz of Ballston Spa, NY, Brian (Rachel) Martz of East Greenbush, NY, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Martz of Ballston Spa, NY; her daughters: Mary (Eric) Cerny of Jupiter , FL, Catherine Martz of Glastonbury, CT her sisters: Freida Knestaut of Pittsburg, PA and Rose Acker of Colorado Springs, CO and three brothers: Jerome Fiscus of Brookville, PA, Daniel Fiscus of Brookville, PA, Wayne Fiscus of Prescott, AZ; her 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Services will be on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 8:30 am at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mevec Funeral Home.
