So many wonderful childhood memories of my favorite aunt fill my thoughts today. Her laughter still rings in my ears. Her zest for life itself was inspiring. From the many family reunions and visits to the farm came thousands of memories for 14 cousins. It was a houseful just getting our two families together! Life on earth goes by so quickly but my faith in God says we will one day have the biggest family reunion ever in heaven. See you there, Aunt Mary, then we'll go berry pickin' again. More than words. Rest in Peace.

Aunt Mary was full of spunk and tenacity. I can still hear her calling us "kiddos". The one memory that I'll always have is of her and her brothers & Aunt Freda playing pinnocle at Grandma's old kitchen table. LOL!! Her faith kept her strong, and her love for the Lord sustained her. Many prayers to the entire family...may the Lord, Jesus, sustain you until He calls you home.

Our faith is such that we believe that all of us shall meet again, beyond the veil. I will play no sorrowful dirge for her who goes to meet Our Lord. Although she goes beyond our sight, her gentle touch remains upon the hearts of those who loved her best.

Juan enjoyed coming up to visit his family while he was driving through the area. He was so happy to see everyone but truly enjoyed seeing Mary and spending some time with her. He wanted to have myself and the kids to meet her and the family so much. He is sorry he can't attend but he is in Indian right now. He misses Mary so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God be with you at this difficult time and now we are thinking of you.

Where do I begin??? So many good and joyful memories of my favorite aunt and her onry 7 cousins. We chased each other around the "8", the living room, hall and kitchen when our parents were playing cards. We got yelled at by you for playing on the stairs, climbing in the barn, and when Steve and I and Bill would tease the younger ones, we really got in trouble. You even mixed up all your kids' names just like our mom did when we were being yelled at. That was funny. It was fun when you lived in Brookville for a while and we got to see you and our cousins every day going to school. It was exciting every time you drove in from California for summer reunions. You even made me blush one day when my mom and dad and you and Uncle Wendell and Grandma were standing in the kitchen and you held up in the air your two piece bakini, it was two red hankerchiefs tied together, I was shocked, and turned red. Once I reached adulthood, I understood the implications of that. I still laugh!!!
I will miss you so much!! You were a strong and courageous woman and held it together so well when Uncle Wendell was gone overseas and raised those wonderful children I call cousins, all by yourself. No woman is ever perfect, but other than my own mother and my mother-in-law who are both my "perfect" women, you are the very next.
I know I will see you again when it is my turn to be in heaven. So until then I will continue to pray for your family and hope that they will cherish and honor you with what you have taught them about life, faith and about our wonderful God and Savior.
With tears in my heart and a smile on my face, you are now with Jesus and in no more pain, just laughter with Uncle Wendell, Grandma and Grandad and Uncle Bob and Uncle Dave and Uncle Gus and Uncle Pete - a great reunion!!

My memories of Aunt Mary are mostly family reunions, weddings, and funerals. One of my earliest memories is going to NY and not being allowed to attend one of the weddings of the Martz' kids (can't recall whose wedding at the moment). Boy, was I disappointed. LOL I remember Aunt Mary's strong and faithful support during the time after my dad died. It was a comfort to have her stay with us through our grief. My most fun memories of Aunt Mary were as a young adult-- the "Fiscus Reunion West" at Elephant Butte Lake in NM 1994 was so much fun. Also, loved being able to chat with her and Aunt Freda about our Catholic faith at a time when I was starting to take it seriously. A few days ago, I just started getting out baby Cecilia's 3-6 months clothes and found an outfit that Aunt Mary had sent for my oldest, Rosemary. I'll always think of her when my Cecilia wears it. Rest in peace, Aunt Mary. Love you!

The Gospel according to John, Chapter 11
• 23 Jesus said to her, “Thy brother shall rise again.
• 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
• 25 Jesus said unto her, “I Am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
• 26 And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
My mother, Mary Martz, would want you to know that she answered “Yes to this question, for she deeply believed in the true words of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of my faith and my trust in Him, and I will forever thank her for that.
"Do you believe this?" Jesus asks. What is your answer to this question? Please give it thought. Please place your trust in the Lord. The gift of eternal life is something we receive from Him, through faith. It is not something we can earn, for Christ finished the work of salvation on His cross.
For those who know and love Him already I say, "Keep the faith (but don't keep it to yourselves.)
For those of you who don't, please bow your heart in faith and say, "Yes".
His peace be with you all.
