Paul easily ranks as one of my favorite teachers. Looking back, he was one of the teachers who actually challenged me to THINK. And he was skillful at getting teenagers to think at a time when we all had "more important" things to think about!
My condolences.

Dear Judy and family,
I was deeply saddened to read of Paul's death in today's Gazette.
I know that I have been out of touch for some time, so I don't know whether Paul's death was expected as the result of illness or unexpected. No matter which it brings with it a sting, which I know well, as my Sandy died this past July 8th.
I share my deep respect and appreciation for Paul as a person, as your husband and a father, a neighbor and friend, as a community-minded person, as teacher and one who reached out to and with many others for the well-being of so many.
I offer you my love and support and share with you that you and your entire extended family are in the embrace of the One who loves us all most fully.
May all possible healing and peace break through the pain and sorrow of this time.
Celebrate, offer gratitude and continue as best as you can; cry when you need ... I do. Do some journaling, or whatever you do that is helpful, to place down your thoughts day to day, a little at a time.
I am saddened by Paul's death at such an early time; however, I celebrate with gratitude all that he was and shared with us all ... we are far the better people because of who he has been .. and who he will continue to be to us all.
I will watch for the announcement of the memorial service when it appears.
Shalom, Bob Long

Paul took his teaching seriously always looking for ways to challenge his students. I know, I was in the room next to him for close to 30 years.

We'll remember Paul with great fondness as a man who lived life with true zest. He was passionate about motorcycles and our rally, passionate about photography, and a true "people person." It has been a pleasure knowing him. We feel a great loss in his passing.

A fabulous teacher (even if my exposure was limited due to his service in Desert Storm). I really enjoyed having him for AP US History and will always remember that joint history/math project with Doctor Reynolds. I am sorry for your loss.

Peter Blaauboer posted a condolence
To Judy and Family,
Few people I have ever met in my life ever set a higher example to follow than Paul. To this day, both my wife Joanne and I continue to serve our communities on many different levels and many different ways....but we found the time to do so only after we retired. Paul found the time while he was fully employed...that was his gift...to do all of that during his most productive years.
We are very glad he had a few years of retirement to more fully enjoy his life here.......although we cannot imagine him just sitting in a chair all day reading Greek History.
Please give the regards of our entire Blaauboer Family, Mark, Kelley, Scott, Mike, Shylo, Jake and Laura...along with Joanne and me, to Pat and Pam. I do not know what it is they have chosen to do in life but the one thing that is theirs, without question, is an enormously great gene pool. That is a forever gift which Paul brought to them and to his heritage.
Regards,
Peter And Joanne Blaauboer

Dear Judy and family,
Please accept my sincere condolences upon Paul's death. I vividly recall talking with him at length as we prepared for Patty and Nick's wedding. Our conversation was delightful as we spoke about so many different things. He was a delight to talk with.
Please be assured that we will remember him and you and your family at our liturgies at Our Lady of the Snow Parish.
Sincerely,

Paul Bachorz was my teacher, mentor, confidant and friend. I was privileged to benefit from his wisdom in the classroom, as well as by his side in the war on terror. He was one of the wisest, kindest and genuine human beings I've met anywhere in the world.
