Obituary of Robert L. Beagle

Robert L. Beagle, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Bob was born in Amsterdam, NY. He was the son of the late Chester and Ada Belle White Beagle.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Bob married Ruth J. Dingmon on January 6, 1952
Bob enjoyed "yard sales" always coming home with a new treasure if not for himself then for someone else who might like the item.
He was a collector of old country music and acquired many friends through the years all over the country who shared his interest.
He loved nothing more than visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob and his wife were Mr & Mrs Santa for many years not only to the children in their family but also at parties, parades and Stewart Stores. They made annual Christmas visits to many of their nieces and nephews.
Bob was very creative and enjoyed building nativity stables, churches and many other items, giving many of them to people he met by chance
He also loved to fish.
In the 1960's, he owned and operated Bob's Used Furniture in Saratoga Springs, He was later employed by General Electric and Saratoga Dairy.
He was also predeceased by his brothers Howard, Chester, Edward, Harold and his sisters Ada Mae Harrington and Shirley Bristol.
Bob is survived by his wife Ruth (Midge) Beagle, his children Debbie (John) Abbott, Bonnie Hammond and her companion Tom Fleischer, David (Vicki) Beagle, Mindy Burch and her companion Lenny Clear, Tammy (Ron) Farr, Kim Fleischer, Robert "Bobby" Beagle and Stacie Blomberg. He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and Cathy Gonzalez and Connie McAffery.
Calling hours will be on Thursday July 8, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wilton Funeral Home, 395 Ballard Road, Wilton
Service will be on Friday July 9, 2010 at 12:00 PM at Wilton Funeral Home.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
