Obituary of Francis Gallagher

Town Of Northumberland, NY Francis "Frank" Gallagher 77 Frank died at home with his family at his side on Monday, March 29, 2010. He was born in Orange, New Jersey, was raised on Staten Island, NY and graduated from McKee High School. Frank and his family moved to Saratoga County in 1972. He was a Customer Engineer for Bell Atlantic Business Systems retiring in 1995. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an aviation structural mechanic on the U.S.S WASP. He was an avid golfer and sportsman and had a hole-in-one at Schenectady Muni in 1986. Frank was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and loved to design, build and fly model aircraft and was also a Eucharist Minister at St. Mary's Church He and his wife Joan were married for 53 Years and renewed their vows in the Holy Land for their 50th anniversary in 2006. He was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Joan, sons David (Cathy) and Marc and grandchildren Ryan and Meagan. Services will be on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 9:30 am at Wilton Funeral Home Inc., 395 Ballard Road, Wilton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service with full military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
