Thomas Arthur Seabury, 83 passed away at home peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.He was born in Suffern, NY. He was the son of the late Mary Ellen (Mae) Seabury.Tom resided in Suffern for 68 years before moving to Wilton in 1995.
He attended Suffern High School before enlisting and serving in the U.S. Marine Corp from October 27, 1943 to April 30, 1946 in the Mag 22, 2nd Air Wing. He participated in the Okinowa Campaign and the Occupation of Japan during World War II.
He was a member of Ironworkers Local 417, Wallkill, NY for Fifty five years.Tom was the owner and founder of Seabury Well Drilling.
Tom had a love for flying and was an avid private pilot, owning several different airplanes through out his life time, building a summer home on Piseco Airport where he was a member of the Piesco Airport Board.
He was a member of the Masons, Ramapo Lodge No. 589 and a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post 2973, Suffern, New York.
Tom is survived by his childhood sweetheart, wife of 62 years Lois Lidster Seabury, his three loving children Randall (Randy)Thomas Seabury of Suffern/Lake Pleasant, Janet Marie Seabury Pressley of Saratoga Springs, NY, Joanne S. Buyce of Wilton,
Three Grandsons and one grand daughter, one great grandson and one great grand daughter, his sister: Helen Rose of Suffern; brother-in-law Wallace E. (Laura Elizabeth(Betty)) Lidster of Ashville, North Carolina, three nieces and two nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, January 9 from 12:00 PM to 3:00PM followed by services at 3:00PM at Wilton Funeral Home Inc., 395 Ballard Road, Wilton, NY.
Committal service with full military honors will be held at a later date at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY. 12866
