So sorry for your loss Laura. I'll miss my 40 year friendship with Dave. Over those years we shared work, hiking, exploring nature trails, lunches, laughing, talking and just hanging out. I will think of Dave often.

I'm very sorry to hear of David's passing. I've always appreciated and been grateful for the work he did on the Solomon Northup story. The research, study, writing and outreach he did was an important contribution to the historical knowledge of our area.

Laura, Daniel, Nancy, Megan and all those whose lives were touched by Dave -
I have many fond memories of being pals with Dave while growing up in Durham, Conn. He was funny, smart and one of those childhood friends whom you remember the rest of your life.
His obituary tells the tale of a man who lived a full life. As an adult, I've appreciated his research and writings about Solomon Northup and slavery.
Such a good man. I will miss him.
My thoughts are with you all.
