Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ballston Spa, NY Judith E. Cramer 77 Judy peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 with her sons by her side. She was born in Troy, New York, the daughter of the late Glenford and Elsie Rawlins Simmons. She grew up in Lansingburgh and graduated from Lansingburgh High School where she majored in art and bookkeeping. She attended Hudson Valley Community College and took several Industrial Engineering classes. During a summer break, while working for the Troy Drug Company, Judy met her husband Paul whom she married on September 25, 1965. Due to their daughter's educational needs, they moved to Ballston Spa in 1972 where she enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their three children. Prior to the birth of her children, Judy worked as a draftsperson for New York Telephone and was later employed part-time at both Annette's Apparel and Vita Mart in Ballston Spa. She and her husband were also the proud proprietors of The Eternity Shop religious goods store in Saratoga Springs from 1982 to 1986. Judy loved to socialize and she very much enjoyed visiting with all of the customers who came into the store. Judy enjoyed cooking and baking and won several blue ribbons at the Saratoga County Fair for her pies, pickles, and baked goods. Her hobbies also included sewing, quilting, drawing, painting, bingo, and gardening, and she took pride in canning 100 quarts of tomatoes each year. She also enjoyed collecting teddy bears. She and her husband spent several years in a couples bowling league. In recent years Judy enjoyed getting back to her hobbies of drawing and painting as a resident of Home of the Good Shepherd. Judy was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Ballston Spa and belonged to the women's prayer group. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Paul D. Cramer, Sr., daughter Theresa "Terri" M. Cramer, infant grandson Aaron Cramer, daughter-in-law Anne Marie Cramer, and brother Gerald Simmons. She is survived by her sons Paul (Lisa) Cramer, Jr. of Edinburg and David Cramer of Voorheesville; granddaughters Emily Cramer and Morgan Cramer; sister-in-law Renie Simmons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs, who provided exceptional care, compassion, and heartfelt kindness over the past seven years. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
