Dateline: Saratoga Springs, NY
Name of Deceased: William "Bill" DeSormeau
William 'Bill' DeSormeau, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2022. Born in Schenectady, NY, son of William Dessormeau Sr and Mary Hance Dessormeau He lived much of his life in the East Glenville and Ballston Spa areas. A few years back, his caring daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jim Hart, welcomed Bill and his wife, Shirley, into their Saratoga Springs home to help take care of them.
Bill was adventurous and had many hobbies. He loved to travel, so upon discharge from serving in the Army during World War ll, he joined the rodeo to tour many parts of the country for a few years. He loved music and jamming with his many fiddle playing friends. Bill was an extremely talented man and was often found in his shop rebuilding damaged string instruments, painting, building Adirondack frames and creating unique, rustic furniture. He also loved spending time with his English Golden Retriever Max and taking care of his chickens.
Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always provided for his family. He will be remembered for so many beautiful reasons, but especially for his contagious smile, laugh and baby blue eyes that light up a room. Bill will forever and always be in our hearts for his love of his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley, his two brothers Leonard (Eve) of Vermont and Lewis Dessormeau of Nevada, his daughter Sandra (James) Hart of Saratoga Springs, daughter Sharon Wilson of Cambridge, NY, and son Mark DeSormeau of Albany, NY. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Grey, Rebecca Fignar (Chris), Paul Miles (Rick), and great granddaughter Katelynn Jewett who watched over him diligently while residing in Wesley's Nursing Home. Bill has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. He is predeceased by his sister Rose Robinson and brother Donald Dessormeau.
