Obituary of Frances E. McEwan

Gansevoort, NY Frances E. McEwan Frances E. McEwan, 98 of Gansevoort, NY went to her heavenly home on January 16, 2022. Frances was born in Yonkers, NY on March 10, 1923. She spent most of her life in Yonkers, raising her four children and as a homemaker. When her children were grown, she worked at Elizabeth Seton college as a bursar. Upon her retirement, she and her husband retired to Delray Beach, Fla. in 1982. Frances devoted her life to her family and to God. She relied on her faith throughout her many life events. Frances became a Life Professed member of the Fraternities of St. Dominic, Lady of Sacred Heart Chapter, Saratoga Springs, NY, taking the religious name of Sr. Monica in May of 2015. Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband, David, after 57 years of marriage in 2000, her son David in 1951, her son, Kevin in 2020, her sister Ruth in 2016 and many other family members. Frances is survived by her son, Kenneth (Cheryl) and her daughter, Teri Lis (Eric). Her grandchildren, E. Justin Lis (Jennifer), Kyle Lis (Barbara), Brandon Lis (Elizabeth), Eryn McEwan Seavey (Nathaniel), Cara McEwan McLaughlin (Joseph), Kelly McEwan Wood (Adam), Ryan McEwan (Tiffany), Christopher McEwan (Alyssa), Fourteen Great Grands with a 15th due in June and three Great, great Grands, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 4th, from 4 to 8 pm at Wilton Funeral Home, 395 Ballard Road, Wilton, NY.
