Ballston Spa, NY Leona Campbell Reckner 85 Leona died at Wesley Health Care Center on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was born in Cambridge, NY. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Georgianna McDonald DeMars. Leona worked as a Shop Stewart for General Electric Company, Schenectady. She was a life member of I.U.E Local 301, Schenectady. She worked for the former Ballston Knitting Mill. Leona was a Policewoman for the Ballston Spa Police Department. She was a member of the Ballston Area Senior Citizens and Saratoga Senior Citizens. Leona was a member of Ballston Spa Elks Lodge #2619 and Life Member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Leona loved to travel, fine dining, reading and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her first husband John Roger Campbell who died August 8, 1991 and her second husband Charles A. Reckner who died on April 8, 2010. Leona is survived by her daughters Georgianna Crannell, Mary Ellen (Pete) Campbell Marmarinos, Rogann (Rodney) Beagle, her brother Thomas DeMars; Her three grandchildren Danielle (John) Rupp, Tim (Jennifer) Moore, Angela (John) Kehoe Her Five great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Family services for Leona will be private.
