Obituary of Andrea L. Simard

Dateline: Ballston Spa, NY Andrea L. Simard passed away suddenly on January 4, 2021. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Hansen & Betty Klages Hansen. Most knew her as Andi. She resided in Ballston Spa with her husband of 37 years, Daniel Simard. Andi was a homemaker and had worked part-time at the Unity House in Troy and the Saratoga County Airport. Andi was a member of the Ballston Spa Senior Center and loved going on trips with her husband Dan. She also loved to sing and was a member of the Senior Choir. She was not shy and would always sing a song if she knew the words. Every Sunday she would go to the Farmer's Market and often talked about the wonderful people she had met there that had become her friends. Andi was an excellent cook and was always proud to say she learned a lot of it from her Mom. She loved making creative dishes for her grandchildren when they were young and cherished the time she spent with them. In addition to her parents Andi was pre-deceased by her brother Edward Hansen & sister Susan Scott. She is survived by her husband Daniel Simard of Ballston Spa, son's James Gardner of Troy, Shane (Kelley) Gardner of Florida, Step-son Jeff (Joanna) Simard of Ballston Spa, grandchildren Alicia, Katie, Rebecca, Emily, Allison, Jake and several nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. She will be missed by all. Services will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in the Spring, date to be announced.
