I was saddened to learn of Joe's passing. When I was active in the Troy-Mozambique mission and ministry, Joe was so very helpful and supportive in arranging wire transfers of funds and all that was involved regarding such financial matters related to that ministry. As well, my late husband, Rev. Bill Barney, often spoke positively of Joe's presence as Troy Conference Treasurer. May Joe's family and friends find comfort and healing in this time of loss and grief.
Warm regards, Brenda Arley

Joe was a very gracious person and I enjoyed working with him when he served as the United Methodist Church Troy Conference Treasurer. He learned our procedures very quickly and was very helpful in our transition period. We offer our prayers for his family, especially Barbara. My heartfelt condolences go to Joe's family and friends. I met Joe in 1998 at the Troy Conference office when Joe followed me as Conference Treasurer when I retired. Over the years we became friends and we had many enjoyable lunches together as well as other gatherings. Actually, it was only two weeks ago when His past Assistant Donna and her husband and my wife and I had our usual holiday lunch with Joe at the OBI. I will miss our lunches and the political bantering he so excelled at. We will miss the friendships we enjoyed with Joe. Joe has shared a lot with us about his family, his trips to Alaska and especially his trips to his sister in Hawaii..he will be greatly missed by all of us.
