Edward died at Gateway House of Peace on June 15, 2017.

He was born in Wilton, NY. He was the son of the late Harmon R. and Nellie M. Flansburgh Spires.

He worked as a warehouse manager in Central Valley NY for PMI, Philadelphia, PA.

He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Ed was a member of the Adirondack Blue Grass League and Adirondack Fiddlers.

He was well known as "the guy with the camera", always taking photos and giving them away at no-charge.

He was predeceased by his wife Pauline C. Spires who died on October 15, 2003.

Ed is survived by his children Timothy Spires, Keith Spires, Susan Moore, several nieces and nephews

Burial was in Gurn Springs Cemetery, Town of Wilton, NY

The family suggests memorial contributions be made out to Gateway House of Peace
