Town of Wilton, NY PAUL MATENUS, 53, of Gansevoort, NY, formerly of Swoyersville, entered into eternity on May 4, 2017 surrounded by loved ones, following a two-year cancer battle. A graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School, Kutztown University, and Northampton Area County Community College School of Mortuary Science. He was employed by Campton Funeral Home, Northampton, PA; Brown Printing, East Greenville, PA, and for the past 25 years at QuadGraphics, Saratoga Spring, NY as machinist/bindery supervisor. He will be remembered for his generosity, wit, and sense of humor - a man of character and utter dependability. Paul most enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends at NASCAR races, conversations around a bonfire, and great motorcycle rides. Son of the late Raymond and Caroline Matenus, Swoyersville, PA, he is survived by his sister, Barbara Bieber, wife of John Bieber, Wyomissing, PA; nieces Rachel Bieber, Lauren Alvey, wife of Kaeden Alvey. Also survived by several faithful and loving friends that he considered family. Many thanks to his compassionate medical care teams through Albany Medical Center. Burial will take place at a graveside service on June 7, 2017 at noon at the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
