He was the son of the late John and Margaret Seeley Barnes. He worked as a Plumber at the former Malta Test Station, Malta, NY. He was predeceased by grandson James Barnes. John is survived by his wife Loretta Baxter Barnes, his sons John (Rhonda) Barnes of Ballston Spa, David Barnes of Middle Grove, his two Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Committal services with full military honors will be on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
