Edward F. Laskey
On September 5th Edward F Laskey 94 passed away with his loving family at his side. He was born in Stillwater and attended St. Paul's High School. In 1942 he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and fought in the Pacific Theater, Peleliu, Anguar and Solomon Islands. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent. After the war he worked many years for the Westvaco Paper Co in Mechanicville NY and later Knolls Atomic Power Labs as a certified nuclear welder. He retired from the Wright Malta Co. in Luther Forest. He was a past member of Knights of Columbus, the Ballston Spa Elks Club and was presented with the Elk of year award. Ed was a past member of the Town of Milton Planning board and was active in the Town of Milton Republican Party in its early days. He is survived by his wife of 74 years Anne (Fenick) Laskey, his sons Edward F Laskey Jr. of West Milton NY, Wife Shirley (Barnes) Laskey, Paul M Laskey Ballston Spa, NY, wife Mary (Kelly) Laskey, Timothy J Laskey, wife Maureen (O'Leary) Laskey of Saratoga Springs NY Thomas R Laskey (deceased) wife Pamela (Ure) Laskey of Halfmoon NY. He also has nine Grandchildren, thirteen Great Grand Children and many Great Great Grand Children.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 8 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mevec Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 8:30 am at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
