Obituary of Richard J. Schermerhorn, Sr.

Saratoga Springs, NY Richard J. Schermerhorn, Sr. Long-time Saratoga Springs resident, Richard J. Schermerhorn, passed away suddenly May 4, 2014 at his home. Born in Troy, NY, Richard was the son of the late Charles H. & Harriet Earing Schermerhorn, Sr. He was a Food Service Supervisor at Albany Medical Center Hospital for 37 years. Richard was a member of the Ballston Spa Elks Lodge #2619 and a Past President of Saratoga Youth Hockey Association. Survivors include his wife Cindy Schermerhorn, his children: Richard (Colleen) Schermerhorn, Jr; Jeffrey (Tama) Schermerhorn; Alycin (John) McCumber; Grandkids include Bryan, Madison, Katie, Dylan, Cody & Morgan; two brothers, Chuck & Mike and a sister Diane, along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm followed by the Ballston Spa Elks Fraternal Service at 7pm at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue in Ballston Spa.
