Wilbur died at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, January 15, 2009.
He was born on November 26, 1930. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Julia C. Post Trieble.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1959 during the Korean War.
He was manager of the former Thomas Oil Company, Ballston Spa
Wilbur served as Town of Milton Supervisor from 1982 until he retired in 2001
He was a member of the Town of Milton Republican Committee, Saratoga County Republican Chairman's Club and the Saratoga County Women's Republican Club
He was a member of the Shriners Masonic Order, Ballston Spa, the Milton Grange and a former member of the Ballston Spa Elks Lodge.
He was a member of the Kayaderosseras Fish and Game Club, the National Rifle Association and chairman of the annual Town of Milton Fishing Tournament.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Marlene) Trieble who died on June 21, 2004.
Survivors include his sister Shirley Center of Ballston Spa. His nieces Gail Rutkowski(Mark), Carol Mullins(Tom) and Sandy Potts(David).
His Step Daughter, Patricia Butler(Dan) of Ballston Spa; step sons Joseph Delaney(Linda) of Burnt Hills, Arthur Delaney(Laura) of Rockwell, NC and Shawn Delaney(Tanya) of Bayside, NY; Step grandchildren, Sarah, Rory, John, Jessica, Joshua, Hank, Heather, Zlata and Lanna and several grandnieces and grandnephews
Memorial Service will be on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Town of Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road, Ballston Spa.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 22 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Town of Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road, Ballston Spa, during which the Ballston Spa Masons will conduct Fraternal Services at 7:00PM and calling hours again on Friday, January 23 from 10:00 AM to 1:00PM at Town of Milton Community Center
The family suggests memorial contributions be made out to Playground Equipment Fund, Town Of Milton Town Park, 503 Geyser Road, Ballston Spa, NY. 12020
or The Ballston Spa Fire Departments.
