Obituary of Warren C. Hickok

Ballston Spa, NY Warren C. Hickok 89 Warren passed away on March 4 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Oakes Hickok. Warren graduated from Ballston Spa HS and Albany Business College. He joined the Army in 1943. He participated in the China, Burma, and India Theaters. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Warren resided in Ballston Spa and worked for the NYS Dept of Motor Vehicles, General Electric and General Electric Federal Credit Union (now SunMark) He recently video recorded his WWII memoirs for the NYS Military Museum. Warren also was a member of Union Fire Dept, served on the Ballston Spa Cemetery Board, Town of Milton Assessment Review Board, Town of Milton Board of Election and currently volunteered for the Saratoga County Office of the Aging, He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Ballston Area Senior Citizens. He enjoyed anytime he could spend with his family, tinkering in his workshop, reading, bus trips and traveling in his motor home He was predeceased by his first wife Jane Brundige Hickok and his sister Shirley Knickerbocker. Survivors include his wife Elaine Wehmeyer Hickok who he was married to for 50 years, his children Carol (Gene) Helms, Shirley (Ken) Lloyd, Clifford (Patricia) Hickok, Eugene (Vicky) Hickok, Andy (Nancy) Hickok; his 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY. Committal service with military honors will follow at Ballston Spa Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 7 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mevec Funeral Home The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Emergency Corp or American Heart Association.
