Tom died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on Sunday, August 26, 2012 after a long illness
with family by his side.
He was born in Troy, NY. He was the son of the late Thomas S. and Mary L. DePucchio Jenkins.
He served in the Army as a transportation officer from 1963 to 1965 stationed in Germany
Tom worked for Ballston Machine and Tool, General Electric Company Schenectady for 15 years.
He was Power Plant Operator at Finch Pruyn Paper Company, Glens Falls retiring in 2001
Tom was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Ballston Spa,
He was a hunter, woodworker, golfer and jack of all trades. He was a member of the 1958 undefeated Ballston Spa High School football team
Tom was a great supporter and #1 fan of his granddaughter Sidney's barrel racing career.
Survivors include his wife Fran LaFreniere Jenkins, his daughter: Erica (Tom) Hickey of Ballston Spa, NY; his brother: John (Phyllis) Jenkins of Ballston Spa, NY;
His granddaughter, Sidney L. Jenkins; his Uncle, Ralph "Poochie"DePucchio; his "adopted" son Chad Lewis, several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as other family members and friends
Services will be on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 29 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Mevec Funeral Home
