Obituary of Mary E. Vanyo

Ballston Spa, NY Mary E. Vanyo 93 Mary died at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. She was born in Ballston Spa, NY. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Jurcsak Bargovic. She worked as a Store Clerk for the former Betor's Department Store, Ballston Spa. She was a great bowler and as a young girl played basketball for the Melander Flower Girls. Mary was a member of Ballston Area Senior Citizens and a Communicant of St. Mary's Church, Ballston Spa She was a wonderful cook and made delicious pies and nut breads. Many dinners were enjoyed with her home grown vegetables from her garden. Mary was proud of her family connection with Czechoslovakia and visited her hometown there in 1993. She loved her family and spending holidays with them. She could always give details on family dates and events. She was predeceased by her husband Michael B. Vanyo who died on October 21, 1984, son Michael B. Vanyo, Jr, brothers Joseph, John, Steve Bargovic, granddaughter, Jewel E. Anna Brown and son in law Kenneth C. Brown who died July 19, 2010 Survivors include her daughter: Marlene A. Brown of Ballston Spa, her Grandsons, Timothy Brown and his wife Melanie of Ballston Spa, Michael Brown and his wife Sue of Burnt Hills, her sister-in-law, Evalina Bargovic; her great grandchildren, Joshua; Karra; Stephanie; Gabriel; Jared and several nieces and nephews Calling hours will be Sunday, April 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Mevec Funeral Home Services will be on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 8:30 am at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maplewood Manor especially the angels on B-2.
