John died at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
He was born in Gloversville, NY. He was the son of the late Oscar A. and Anna Pannone Tremblay.
He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for F. Donald Myers Educational Center, Saratoga Springs.
John served in the U.S. Air Force where he met his life's love Barbara Bowers. They were married in Lincoln, Maine.
John was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and was Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 7670 Gansevoort. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Degree Team which won State Champion honors. John loved the Lord and served Him well.
He was a Lector and Religious Education Teacher at St. Therese Chapel.
John's greatest pride was his family. He was a funny man known for his quick wit and one liners. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles and was a fan of the NY Giants, Yankees and the Olympic Games. Special memories were made at the family's camp at Nicatous Lake and Eskutassis Lake in Maine.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Tremblay, In-laws Linwood and Marilyn Bowers, Towser Bowers, Mike Gerry and special friend Tom Poitras.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years Barbara Tremblay, his daughters: Anna (Steve) Baluha, Brenda (Phil) Citriniti and his sons: John (Margie) Tremblay, Michael (Judy) Tremblay, Chris (Amy) Tremblay; his precious grandchildren, Danielle; Michelle; Meghan; Alicia; Dominic; Andrew; John; Oliver and Julia, He is also survived by Barb's family; Pauline Bowers, Bev and Darrell Spencer, Mary and Dick Pelkey, Joan and Bud Smith, Ralph and Ophelia Bowers, Linda Gerry, Bonnie and Lee Reardon, many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friend, Andy Piazza.
Calling hours will be Monday, February 20, 2012 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Wilton Funeral Home, 395 Ballard Road, Wilton. The Gansevoort Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 7:00 PM
A calling Hour will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Wilton Funeral Home, 395 Ballard Road, Wilton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Therese Chapel, Junction Rte 32 And Wilton Gansevoort Road, Gansevoort.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
