Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dateline Saratoga Springs, NY
Name of Deceased: Lois C. Arnold
Age: 86
Lois died at Wesley Health Care Center on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
She was born in Cheektowaga, NY. She was the daughter of the late William and Florence Feltz.
Lois worked hard during her life. During WWII she worked as an Inspector at Curtis Wright Airplane Factory.
After the war, she met her husband Alfred. They bought a dairy farm in Stillwater. Lois milked 12 cows a day by hand, before Al quit General Electric and they got electricity at the farm.
The farm was expanded to a herd of 79 Holstein cows. The milk was sold to Hood Dairy Products. The farm was family run. Every cow, pig, chicken, dog and cat was named and well cared for.
Lois was also employed at Van Raltz Knitting, Arrow Shirt factory, Nathan Textiles, Burger King, Wilton Mall and Price Chopper
Her talents included knitting, crocheting, needle point, sewing, quilting and crafts. It was amazing how she could look at a sweater or afghan once and make it without a pattern. She would give the creations she made with love away to family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Arnold Sr. who died February 1973 and her son Robert Arnold who died August 1973
Survivors include her children Joyce (Thomas) Klett of Rocky Mount, NC, Patricia (William) Van Buren of Bluffton, SC; Alfred (Debra) Arnold, Jr of Wilton, Sandra Arnold- Spaulding of Porter Corners, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
Graveside service will be on Saturday May 12, 2012 at North Milton Cemetery, North Milton Road, following the service there will be a luncheon at the Old Stone Church, Stone Church Road
