Dateline: Ballston Spa, NY Doris J. Waldeck 82 Doris died at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs on Sunday, September 25, 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Jeanette Baxter Waldeck. Doris graduated from Nathan Littauer Nursing School in Gloversville. She worked at the former Benedict Hospital, Ballston Spa, Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, and retired from Stratton V.A. Medical Center, Albany. She served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. She was a member of the Ballston Area Senior Citizens and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Saratoga Springs. Survivors include her cousins, John and Kevin Cunningham, her friends and caregivers Christine and James Barnes, Patricia "Patty" Le Roy, Ben Tetanus and Marjorie Bush. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Services will be on Thursday, September 29 at 10:00 am at Mevec Funeral Home. Committal service with military honors will follow at Ballston Spa Cemetery.
