Obituary of Harold J. Mevec, Sr

Harold J. Mevec Sr. November 26, 1936 - February 1, 2014 Harold J. Mevec Sr., 77, of Fairmount, passed away Saturday. Born in Pennsylvania, he moved to Syracuse and worked at General Electric, from where he retired. He was a regular volunteer at Valley Little League, where he helped out as a coach and umpire. Harold is survived by his wife, Rosalie; three children, Harold (Vira) Mevec, Ann (Mike) Theberge and Tom (Christine) Mevec; six grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Paul, Sarah, Alex and Nathan; a brother, William (Mary Ann) Mevec; two sisters, Tillie Billo and Frances Charmney; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am at the Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse. Interment will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider the Syracuse Rescue Mission in his memory.
