Ballston Spa, NY Helen C. Kivlen 89 Helen died at Saratoga Hospital on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. She was born in Herkimer, NY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathryn Murphy Clifford. She was a Teacher's Aide at Ballston Spa Central Schools, Ballston Spa. Helen was a member of the New York State United Teachers Union. She was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Shaul and her husband, Louis D. Kivlen who died on May 24, 2007. Survivors include her sons: William T. (Barbara) Kivlen of Mission Viejo, CA, John C. Kivlen of Palm Harbor, FL, her daughters Patricia Kivlen of Marlton, NJ, Mary Lou (Ray) Daniels of Sandgate, VT, Susan Kivlen of Reno, NV, her sister Alice Bowles of Augusta, SC; her grandchildren, Jill, Eric, Jennifer, Jonah, Christopher, Daesha, Lauren, Ryan, Ashley, Robin, Matthew, Laura, Teresa, Robert, Carly, Monica, Kim, Jacquelyn, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 22 from 9:30 AM to 11:30AM at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
