Obituary of Elizabeth J. Murray

Ballston Spa, NY. Elizabeth "Betty" Murray, 91, of St. Maries, Idaho died Thursday, January 13, 2011 peacefully at home. Born on Foster Avenue in Schenectady on November 1, 1919, Betty lived much of her life in the Schenectady area. For more than 40 years, she lived in Ballston Spa before joining her son, Paul in St. Maries, Idaho. She worked at GE in Schenectady during World War II; then was a nurse's aide at Ellis Hospital. She enjoyed raising her family and being a homemaker for many years. She was also a nurse's aide at Saratoga Hospital, and worked as a teacher's aide for the Head Start and ARC Programs in Saratoga County. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa for many years and of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Harrison, Idaho Betty was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Murray; daughter, Patricia Murray; mother, Elizabeth; father, Peter Paskocim; her sisters, Albina Yanis and Magdelen Kozlowski; and brothers, Stephen and Vito Paskocim. She is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret Murray of Portland, Oregon; and loving son, Paul Murray of St. Maries, Idaho; and two grandchildren, Jamie and Jeffrey Murray of California. Betty was the sister of Anna (Ida) Cruickshank of Denton, MD; Daniel Parks and his wife Renee of Santa Barbara, CA; Leona and her husband Raymond Homic of Scotia, NY and Marjorie Della Villa of Fair Oaks, CA; and several nieces and nephews from both the Paskocim and Murray families and don't forget "Angel Mary". Calling hours will be on Friday, January 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa and on Saturday, January 22 from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ballston Spa.
