Andrew James Brothers (Andy), 61, of Gansevoort, NY, passed away on August 19, 2026, in his home. Andy was born in Evanston, Illinois to Robert and Sally Brothers on January 11, 1965. He grew up in Clifton Park, NY and graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 1983. He went on to earn an accounting degree from Northeastern University in 1988. He worked many years as an accountant before starting his lifelong career in construction and carpentry. He frequently had a toolbox nearby ready to help anyone who asked. His kindness and generosity were known by all who had the chance to get to know him. He loved boating, skiing and outdoor activities. Andy was often found holding a coffee with a smiling face ready for some excitement. He loved his nieces and nephews and was always the fun uncle when with them.

Andy is survived by his four older siblings who supported him throughout his life with any challenges he faced. Michael (Ann) Brothers of Rutland, Vermont, Timothy (Laura) Brothers of Clifton Park, NY, Mary Ann (Robert) Ida of Windham, NH, and Susan (Ken) Banker of Ballston Spa, NY. Nephew and Nieces, Joseph Ida, Katherine Ida-Gartland, Ryan Banker, Mackenzie Banker, Sophia Brothers and great nephew Simon Gartland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sally Brothers and his nephew Matthew Brothers. A private graveside burial is planned for later this year in Rutland Vermont.
