Danny Scott Boyd, 89, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on

August 2, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and

friend. He dedicated his life to family and his faith with a life of sacrifice, determination and

great accomplishments. He will be deeply missed.

He was born on February 24, 1937 in Clay, KY to Addie Hasard. At 16, he enlisted in the US

Army where he served for 20 years. While stationed in Germany, he met his wife, Isolde

Welsch. Five years later converted to Catholicism. He was ordained a deacon in 1982 with 34

years of pastoral service at St. Therese in Gansevoort, NY. Upon retiring from the Army as a

Chief Warrant Officer, he spent an additional 17 years as a Special Agent for the Investigative

Service.

During his life, he earned a BA Degree in Law Enforcement and Corrections with a minor in

language (Farsi) and Sociology, Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from St.

Bonaventure University, Master of Arts Degree in Theology from St. Bernard's Institute, and

attended the Institute for Sacred Scripture at Georgetown University every June for 20 years.

Danny is survived by his wife, Isolde Boyd, of 68 years; daughters Diana Boyd and Deborah

Kitlas; granddaughter Leonna White; and great grandson Hezekiah Robbins. He was

preceded by his grandson Daniel White.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Therese on August 10th at 10:30 am. Interment will be at

Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 1 pm. Reception to follow at St.

Therese's hall at 2 pm.
