Obituary of Arthur J. Prediger

Town of Northumberland, NY Arthur J. Prediger Arthur J Prediger, (90), of Gansevoort, NY, passed away on April 14, 2025. He was the husband to his devoted and loving wife of 65 years, Sandra (Hoffman) Prediger. Arthur, fondly known as Art, was born to Lawrence and Vera (O'Brien) Prediger of Green Island, NY on February 23, 1935. As a talented athlete who loved playing sports in his youth and being sports' biggest fan throughout his life, Art cultivated his life principles of honor, honesty, integrity, tough love, and commitment to family that propelled him in his careers in the US Marine Corps, in the family business (Prediger's Bakery, Green Island), and in Ford Motor Company while also instilling them in his own family. In addition to loving sports, he enjoyed challenging his family to always learn and be independent. He also found great joy and rejuvenating peace at the Outer Banks. Art's strong spirit is carried on by his wife Sandra and their four children: Mark (Maria) Prediger, Lynne Douglas, Carolyn Prediger, and Arthur Prediger; his four grandchildren William Douglas, Daniel Douglas, Mark Prediger, Michael Prediger, as well as eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in peace were his parents, Lawrence and Vera, and his siblings Lawrence Prediger, Dorothy Kyer, and Robert Prediger. To honor Art's memory, a memorial service with Military Honors will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery on April 29, 2025 at 1pm.
