Obituary of Robert L. Mevec

Liverpool, NY Robert L. Mevec 76 Bob passed away at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 6, 2011. He was born in Vandling, PA. He was the son of the late Louis and Frances Petrocic Mevec. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #0001, Albany, NY and Post #188, Liverpool, NY He worked for General Electric, Syracuse. He was a Bus Driver for Syracuse-Oswego Transit, Centro, and Empire Transportation all of Syracuse, NY Bob and his wife Joanne were Proprietors of J & B Travel, Liverpool, NY He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and Louis Mevec and his sister, Amelia "Molly" Kurtak Survivors include his wife of 50 Years Joanne Masselle Mevec, his children Robert Mevec of Pulaski, Joanne Galvin and her husband Patrick of Clay, Michael Mevec and Tricia Justian of Clay, his sisters Frances Chmarney of Williamsville, NY and Tillie Billo of Syracuse, his brothers: Harold Mevec and his wife Rosalie of Syracuse and William Mevec and his wife Mary Ann of Ballston Spa, NY; his grandchildren, Ryan and Connor Galvin and Christina Mevec; Several nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday January 10, 2011 at 11:00AM at Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home, 3401 Vickery Road. Corner of Buckley Road, North Syracuse Committal service with military honors will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday January 9, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM at Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
