Steven died at home surrounded his family, friends and his beloved dog Bear on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.
He was born in Beckley, WV. He was the son of the late Everette and Dorothy Cox Lester.

He worked in the coal mines of West Virginia and the Ironworkers Union, Local #12, Albany, NY
He also served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He was predeceased by his sister, Connie Lester
Survivors include his wife Annette Lester, his daughters: Tammy Marshall and her husband Phillip and Stephanie Companion and Steven Mayette both of Greenfield, NY; his sisters: Judy Adkins of Gloucester, VA and Linda Tabor of Glen Morgan, WV,
His Grandchildren, Michael Lester, Amber Lester, Tyler Lester, Jerrid Marshall, Kaelyn Marshall, Johnna Companion and John Companion III,
Special best friends John LaSpisa of Ballston Spa and Delmer Lilly of Alabama, special family friends Liz and Paul White and Tammy Mills all of Ballston Spa
Calling hours will be Monday, June 7 from 10:00 AM to Noon at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
